The sources that I found discuss how advertising has changed throughout history, and is now most focused on social media. Advertising used to be only in print form, and then with advances in technology moved on to radio, then television, and now the internet. My sources also discuss how advertising in social media is so effective because there are different forms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn) that attract different kinds of people, and different groups in society. The link following this post discusses these ideas, and elaborates on the differnet mediums in which social media advertising exists. These trends did not surprise me since clearly advertisers are going to be attracted to whichever medium is most popular. However, it was interesting to see how advertisers focused on different websites to promote different items and services. link to article

This blog discusses advertising in social media, and how it has evolved and changed throughout history. We will show the different ways companies use sites like Facebook and Twitter to promote their products to a specific audience. The picture shows how much advertising occur on these social media sites, but are blended into the rest of the page so they do not blatantly attract users’ attention. This is important because the public must know when they are being targeted to buy a product, and the ways in which advertisers are doing so. It is important for people to know if they are being deceived, or if a product is truly beneficial to his/her lifestyle.
